It is a light, mid-season garment, made of fine canvas and historically lined with Royal Tartan. Its short cut is adapted for golfing, the sport for which it was originally designed.

Origin of the name :  Harrington is a nickname that appeared in the 1960s thanks to the American television series Peyton Place. One of the characters, named Rodney Harrington, wore a golf jacket, then called G9, from the English brand Baracuta.
